“Free economic zone “Vitebsk” was founded on 04.08.1999 and has been dynamically developing for 25 years.
The result is implementation of 56 investment projects with participation of capital from 15 countries of the world. Currently, more than 10 thousand people work in resident organizations of FEZ “Vitebsk”. Modern equipment, competitive products, introduction of new technologies are distinctive features of our enterprises.
Currently, the territory of FEZ “Vitebsk” is 2,425 thousand hectares. It consists of 17 sectors. Most sectors (7) are located in the city of Vitebsk, 5 — in the Orsha region, 1 — in the Polotsk region, 1 — in Novopolotsk and 1 — in the westernmost district of the Vitebsk region, Postavy, 1 — in Miory, 1 — in the Tolochin region.

Vitebsk, with a population of 378 thousand people, is the largest railway junction in the north of the Republic of Belarus. The city has a valid aerodrome from which international flights are performed.
The total length of the boundaries of the Vitebsk region with neighboring states is 993.8 km, including with Russia — 575.8 km. (Pskov Region — 341.8 km, Smolensk Region — 234 km), Lithuania —192.2 km, Latvia — 165.8 km.
The developed transport network (Eastern boundaries of Poland - Central regions of Belarus - Baltic countries - northwestern and central regions of Russia) makes the territory of FEZ "Vitebsk" the most attractive for organizing of productions focused on exporting their products and services to the markets of Russia, the Baltic States, Scandinavia and Central Europe.
The network of modern roads and railways provides traffic between the regional center and the largest cities in Europe: Minsk (280 km), Moscow (550 km), St. Petersburg (600 km), Warsaw (800 km), Kiev (550 km), Vilnius ( 360 km), Riga (500 km), Tallinn (687 km).
One of the main trans-European transport communications — the Crete Corridor No. 9 (Helsinki-Vitebsk-Kiev-Chisinau-Plovdiv), M1 highway (Brest-Moscow), the Great Silk Road, passes through Vitebsk.
